If these hides weren't tanned into rugs, they would most likely be discarded as waste, highlighting the sustainable aspect of our cowhide rug collection. Our tannery has shared that only about 6 percent of cows slaughtered for meat have their hides tanned for rugs, and of those, only a small 3% boast colors and patterns beyond the common black and brown, making these patterned cowhides even more unique and desirable.
