Sustainable & Environment Features

By-Product: All of our sheepskins are by-products of the meat industry. The meat industry has no interest in utilizing sheepskins, if they aren't collected by individual tanneries to process them into rugs and other useful items they would be discarded at the landfill. 

No Plastic: All natural sheepskins do not contain plastic. 

Caring for the landscape: Sheep graze and live in habitats that no other mammals can successfully thrive in. Eco systems, like native plant species, insects and other small mammals have a symbiotic relationship.

Compostable: For any reason that the sheepskin is no longer needed or wanted, it can simply be composted back into the earth.

All of our sheepskin products at Angus Oliver are tanned to strict European 'Reach' standards, or OEKO TEX certification. Safe for families and the environment. We have seen sheep similar to our being sold in many outlets, without any certification, these can contain very harmful substances like formaldehyde and off gas terrible things inside your home.

REACH standards for sheepskin rugs focus on restricting harmful chemicals, ensuring products are free from substances like formaldehyde, azo dyes, and chromium (VI), protecting human health and the environment.
