To help your large cowhide last and maintain its pristine condition, it's a good idea to place it in a low-traffic area where it won't experience excessive wear, preserving its natural beauty for years to come.

If you notice any curling on the edges, a simple trick is to lightly mist the affected edge with water and then place something heavy on it overnight to flatten it out, restoring its smooth appearance. For more stubborn or really curled spots, you can simply and carefully trim them away with an Exacto knife for a neat finish. This curling can sometimes be caused by dry indoor climates or areas with high foot traffic. It's also worth noting that cowhides will naturally have a few unique characteristics, including minor imperfections. Sometimes, small repairs may have been expertly completed by the tannery during the long and complex tanning process, especially since large cowhide pieces are involved. These natural variations and subtle repairs don't detract from the hide's inherent character; instead, they add to its authenticity and unique story, making each Angus Oliver rug truly one-of-a-kind.

Pets absolutely adore cowhides too! They make a fantastic, warm spot for your furry friends to sleep, especially on cold floors, helping to maintain comfort throughout your home for all its inhabitants and adding another layer of cozy appeal.

Our cowhides are responsibly sourced from non-rainforest regions in Brazil and Colombia. Each large cowhide is meticulously inspected for quality upon arrival, ensuring you receive a premium product, and then priced accordingly to reflect its unique characteristics and condition, guaranteeing excellent value for such beautiful rugs.

Importantly, all of our cowhides are by-products of the meat industry. If they weren't expertly tanned into these beautiful rugs, they would most likely be discarded as waste. Our tannery shares some fascinating statistics: only about 6% of cows slaughtered for meat have their hides processed for rugs. Even more exclusive, only 3% of those cowhides feature colors and patterns beyond solid black or brown, making our unique selections, like those you might find at Angus Oliver, truly special and a rare find for those seeking distinctive home decor.

This item ships for free to most locations within Canada. Standard shipping via Canada Post or UPS, whichever is more affordable for us.

Northern more remote locations might have a minimal shipping amount in addition to the price. As always an shipping overcharges are refunded as we love our customers.

Shipping
We pack orders on Wednesdays and Fridays, and attempt to get them to the Post Office that same day. During large sale events shipping may take a little longer due to the sheer amount of orders requiring to be lovingly packed.

USA ORDERS HAVE BEEN PAUSED DUE TO 35% TARIFFS BEING CHARGED BY TRUMP TO US CONSUMERS.

We are shipping Canadian orders via Canada Post. 

It's up to our customers to collect their items from Canada Post, or sign for their delivery, doorstep delivery has become increasingly unsafe with people stealing packages.

All shipments have tracking numbers which will be emailed to you upon shipping time. Please check your spam folder for tracking information.
 
We are not responsible for packages that are stolen from mail boxes or door steps. Please purchase the shipping insurance option on the cart page. Whenever possible we use Canada Posts 'card for pickup' option unless the item is being mailed to a PO Box.

Please choose a delivery address for your orders to be shipped to very carefully.

1) Ideally it is your home address because many deliveries are attempted after hours.

2) If you are aware that many online orders don't get successfully delivered to your choice of delivery address, please choose a delivery address such as 'pick up from a local UPS' or other location.

3) you can enter any delivery address that you want, but make sure it's a reliable one.

UPS and Canada Post only refund a maximum amount of $100 for packages not delivered, lost or delivered to the wrong place. It's ridiculous I know.

Please purchase the shipping insurance option at check out.

BUT if a customer knowingly supplies a shipping address that is;

1) Not their personal address
2) Not supplied information to us prior to their package being shipped such as a preferred method of shipping or a correction of address.
3) Supplies an address that has a history of packages not being delivered.
4) Refuses to collect their package locally, if we can track down where it went astray. 

These orders will not be refunded or replaced as the customer has not performed their due diligence to supply a reliable and accurate delivery location.




Returns


If you hate anything that you receive (which would be most odd) please return it within 7 days of receiving it. Clearance items are final sale and any item that sells for 15% off or more are also final sale.

The customer is required to pay the shipping fee's for returning the goods. 

Please understand that there can be no refunds after that timeframe due to sanitary reasons. A re-stocking fee of 15% per item will also be charged which covers our time to re-photograph and list items to the website. Stock items that we have multiple units will not be charged a re-stocking fee.

Goods must be returned in their 'original' and 'unused' condition.

For refunds we deduct the original shipping fee (as shipping has already occurred) and refund the remaining amount, this applies to trading items as well. This also applies to orders that received 'free shipping'. The original cost for us to ship your order will be deducted from any refund.
